Abstract

Shrimp farming is one of the fisheries sectors with high economic value. However,its success is greatly influenced by the accuracy of feeding schedules and the qualityof pond water. Manual feeding often causes several problems, such as inaccuratefeeding times, inappropriate feed quantities, and feed waste, which can reduce waterquality. This study aims to design and develop an automatic shrimp feeding systembased on the Mamdani Fuzzy Logic method with a scheduled timer and waterquality monitoring. The system uses an ESP32 microcontroller as the maincontroller, a turbidity sensor to detect water turbidity levels, a pH sensor to measurewater acidity, and a Real-Time Clock (RTC) module to determine the feedingschedule. Data obtained from the sensors are processed using the Mamdani FuzzyLogic method to determine the appropriate amount of feed based on water turbidityand pH conditions. The processing results are then used to control a servo motorthat acts as the actuator for opening the feed container. The system is also equippedwith a 16×2 LCD to display information, a buzzer as an audio indicator, and theBlynk application for remote monitoring. The implementation of this system isexpected to enable automatic and timely feeding according to pond water qualityconditions, thereby reducing feed waste, maintaining water quality, improving theefficiency of shrimp farming, and supporting the application of automationtechnology in the modern fisheries sector.
