Abstract

Monitoring the fuel level in PLTD storage tanks is an important aspect of maintaining fuel supply continuity and preventing the tank from becoming empty or overflow ing. Manual monitoring is considered less effective because it requires direct inspection. This study aims to design and develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based fuel level monitoring and control system using the Fuzzy Mamdani method. The system employs a JSN-SR04T V3.0 ultrasonic sensor to measure the fuel level, an ESP32 microcontroller for data processing, the Blynk application for real-time monitoring, and a relay module to automatically control the fuel pump. The sensor testing results showed an average measurement error of 2.31 cm, an average percentage error of 4.63%, and an accuracy of 95.37%. The fuel level data were successfully displayed in real time on the Blynk application through an internet connection. The Fuzzy Mamdani method successfully classified the tank condition into four categories, namely Empty, Nearly Empty, Medium, and Full, enabling the pump to operate automatically according to the tank level. Based on the test results, the proposed system performed well and was able to improve the effectiveness of monitoring and controlling the fuel level in PLTD fuel storage tanks.
