Coal loading and unloading activities at ports are among the operations with a high level of risk to occupational safety and health (OSH). This process involves the use of heavy equipment, exposure to coal dust, and other potential hazards that may threaten workers’ safety if not properly managed. Therefore, the implementation of occupational safety and health is essential to support operational efficiency and protect workers from workplace accidents and occupational diseases.This study aims to analyze the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in coal loading and unloading activities at Kabil Port, Batam, conducted by PT. Bahtera Maju Selaras. The focus of this research includes the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe working procedures, operational supervision, and risk control efforts in the work environment. In addition, this study also examines the factors affecting the effectiveness of OSH implementation in these activities.The research method used is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through field observations, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were then analyzed to provide an overview of the implementation of OSH in coal loading and unloading activities.The results of the study indicate that the implementation of OSH in coal loading and unloading activities at PT. Bahtera Maju Selaras has been carried out, but it has not been fully optimal. This can be seen from the fact that there are still workers who are not disciplined in using complete PPE, limited occupational safety facilities, and supervision that is not yet optimal in several operational activities. The main factors affecting OSH implementation include workers’ low awareness of the importance of workplace safety, the lack of regular OSH training, and working environment conditions that have a high level of risk.
