Abstract

Manual indoor lighting control often results in inefficient electrical energy consumption. This study aims to implement a Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) for automatic indoor lighting intensity control. The system uses an Arduino Uno, two
BH1750 sensors, an LR7843 MOSFET module, and a 12 V DC LED as the output. The Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) method is applied using two input variables, one output variable, 16 fuzzy rules (rule base), and the Centroid
defuzzification method to generate Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) values for controlling LED brightness. The testing results show that the system is capable of automatically adjusting lighting intensity according to indoor and outdoor lighting conditions. A comparison between the calculated and measured results produced a minimum error of 0 %, a maximum error of 23.214 %, and an average error of 9.444 %. These results indicate that the system performs well incontrolling lighting intensity, thereby improving visual comfort and supporting efficient electrical energy utilization.
