Abstract

This study aims to design the gateway of Bengkalis State Polytechnic by adopting a Malay architectural concept through the utilization of Autodesk AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Twinmotion. The research methods include observation, field measurements, documentation, literature review, and a design process consisting of the preparation of 2D working drawings, 3D modeling, and animation visualization. The working drawings were created using Autodesk AutoCAD based on field measurement data, then developed into a 3D model using SketchUp and visualized as an animation using Twinmotion. The results indicate that the gateway design successfully represents the identity of Bengkalis State Polytechnic through the application of Malay architectural elements, such as the tanjak form and Malay ornaments, combined with a modern design concept. Furthermore, the resulting 3D model and animation provide a realistic visualization of the design, facilitating the evaluation process and the presentation of the design outcomes. Therefore, the use of Autodesk AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Twinmotion effectively supports the design process while producing an informative and communicative visualization medium.
