Abstract

The growth in student numbers and high intensity of academic and non-academic activities at Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis demand a representative multipurpose hall. The absence of a large-capacity venue forces key institutional events, such as graduations and national seminars, to rely on open spaces, leading to inefficient event management. This final project aims to design the Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis Graha Building with a 3,000-person capacity as a new campus landmark through 2D working drawings, 3D modeling, and visual animation. The design methodology utilizes qualitative analysis described inductively to guide the design process. Execution relies on AutoCAD for 2D technical drawings, SketchUp for 3D modeling, and Lumion for animated video visualization. The final output delivers a complete architectural documentation set, including site plans, two-story floor plans, elevations, sections, architectural details, and exterior and interior visualizations. The facade features a secondary skin of golden laser-cut metal panels with the Wajik Bintang motif alongside wooden louvers forming the silhouette of the Tanjak Melayu, providing sun shading while preserving local cultural identity. This design serves as a reference for supplying a modern, adaptive, and Malay-characterized event facility.
