Abstract
This study aims to analyze the capacity of the downstream drainage channel in Sekodi Village, Bengkalis District, an area frequently affected by inundation due to high rainfall and tidal influences. The issue is exacerbated by the condition of the existing drainage channel, which features unlined earthen sections, nonuniform geometry, and problems with sedimentation and vegetation overgrowth. To overcome the limitations of one-dimensional (1D) analysis in representing flow patterns and the spatial distribution of inundation, this study employs twodimensional (2D) hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS software. The research methodology comprises hydrological analysis to determine design flood discharge based on historical rainfall data, hydraulic analysis using Manning's equation to evaluate existing channel capacity, and 2D HEC-RAS modeling to simulate flow conditions and identify potential inundation areas. The study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the drainage channel's capacity to handle water discharge, identify inundation-prone locations, and offer recommendations for improving the drainage system in the study area. The findings are expected to yield data on existing channel capacity, inundation distribution maps, and the identification of channel sections at risk of overflowing. These results can serve as a reference for the Sekodi Village Government in planning and managing the drainage system to mitigate inundation risks in the area.
