Abstract
This study analyzes waste accumulation volume and designs precast concrete waste bins for 4 (four) road segments. Methods include field surveys, measuring existing bin dimensions at 8 (eight) points, observing waste height for 7 (seven) days across morning and afternoon sessions, and collecting secondary data, which were processed to calculate accumulation volume and design bin dimensions, weight, and reinforcement. Results show the existing bins vary considerably in accumulation volume, with the highest average volume per session at Point 6 on Jalan Pertanian (1,956 m³) and the lowest at Point 3 on Jalan Lembaga (0,145 m³). The existing collection schedule (07.00–08.00 and 13.00–14.00 local time) is essentially adequate, while accumulation problems mainly stem from the community's disposal pattern, concentrated from afternoon into the evening. Based on these findings, a precast concrete waste bin measuring 175 cm long, 150 cm wide, and 75 cm high, with a capacity of 1.969 m³ per unit and a safety margin of ±0.67%, was designed. Of the total 12 (twelve) required bin points, 5 (five) new points are needed: 3 on Jalan Bantan and 2 on Jalan Baru Desa Wonosari, while Jalan Lembaga and Jalan Pertanian require no additional points, as their existing distribution already meets the 475 m spacing standard. Each unit weighs 1,350 kg (1.35 tons) in total, comprising a 472.5 kg floor slab and four wall elements of 202.5–236.25 kg each, reinforced with Ø8 bars, so the overall material requirement for the 12 points is approximately 16.2 tons of precast concrete.
