Abstract

Construction work involves various potential hazards that may cause occupational accidents if they are not properly identified and controlled. These hazards can be found in reinforcement work, which involves sharp materials, physical activities, and unsafe working conditions that may cause injuries. This study aims to identify potential hazards, analyze risk levels, and determine proposed risk controls in the construction of a Palm Kernel Shell Warehouse using the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) method. The study was conducted on reinforcement work for pile caps, tie beams, pedestal columns, walls, and floor slabs. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, and documentation. JHA analysis was conducted by breaking down each activity into several work steps, identifying potential hazards, and assessing risks based on Consequences (C), Exposure (E), and Probability (P) using the formula R = C × E × P. The results identified two risk levels, namely Priority 3 with a risk value of 45 and Substantial with risk values of 90 and 135. Proposed controls include improving work methods, organizing work areas, increasing supervision, using appropriate equipment, and implementing personal protective equipment (PPE).
