Abstract

The rapid development of industrial technology has increased the demand for lifting equipment capable of improving efficiency, productivity, and workplace safety in material handling processes. One of the commonly used lifting devices is the gantry crane. However, conventional lifting equipment still has limitations in terms of efficiency and requires considerable manual labor. Therefore, this study focuses on the design and construction of a 300 kg capacity Mini Gantry Crane powered by an electric motor to facilitate the lifting and transportation of loads. The results indicate that the Mini Gantry Crane was successfully designed and manufactured according to the specified design criteria with a maximum lifting capacity of 300 kg. Based on the engineering calculations, all major structural components operate within safe working limits. Performance testing also demonstrated that the crane was capable of lifting and transporting loads steadily at test loads of 50 kg, 100 kg, and 150 kg. As the load increased, the lifting time became longer, resulting in a lower lifting speed; however, the lifting and traveling systems continued to operate safely and effectively. The use of an electric motor as the driving system improved operational efficiency, reduced manual labor, and enhanced operator safety during material lifting and handling.
