Abstract

Pambang Baru Village in Bantan District features a coastal area and a river network that support the local community's fishing activities. However, the high cost of boat procurement means that some fishermen still operate in groups. This study aims to design a small fishing boat suitable for individual use and adapted to the specific characteristics of the Banan River in Pambang Baru Village. The design process involved determining principal dimensions, hull form, lines plan, and General Arrangement, as well as conducting stability analysis using AutoCAD and the Maxsurf Student Version.
The study resulted in a design for a plywood-fiberglass composite boat with a three-passenger capacity and principal dimensions of LOA 5.22 m, Beam 1.35 m, Depth 0.50 m, and Draft 0.15 m, powered by a 7.5 HP Robin engine. Analysis indicates that the boat meets the IMO A.749(18) stability requirements, making it suitable for operations on the Banan River in Pambang Baru. The resulting design is expected to provide a safe and comfortable means of transport that supports the fishermen's activities.
