Abstract
Pambang Baru Village, located in Bantan District, features an extensive coastal area and a dense network of waterways; consequently, many local residents work as fishermen. This final project aims to design a propulsion system, including the specification of the propulsion engine, as well as the design of the rudder and engine mount. The project involved calculating vessel resistance using Maxsurf Resistance software—specifically applying the Wyman method suitable for small-scale vessels—and determining a calculated speed of 6.2 knots. Sea trial results showed speeds of 5.6 knots at a 0° heel angle, 6.9 knots at a 15° heel angle, and 5.9 knots at a 25° heel angle.
