Abstract
The calculation of Bill of Quantity (BOQ) is a very important stage in preparing the cost budget for every construction project. Until now, the manual method that is still widely used in the field often takes a long time, is prone to calculation errors, and makes it difficult when design changes occur because everything has to be recalculated from the beginning. This study aims to calculate the BOQ for the ICS Senior High School construction project in Pekanbaru using Autodesk Revit software as an application of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) method. The steps taken are creating a three-dimensional model of the building structure based on the available working drawings, then automatically extracting the volume data from Revit, and comparing the results with manual calculations using Microsoft Excel. The results of this study show that 3D modeling with Revit was carried out through several stages, such as creating grids and levels, as well as modeling structural elements including pile caps, pedestal columns, sloof beams, columns, beams, and floor slabs along with their steel reinforcement. From the comparison results, for concrete volume the difference between Revit and manual calculations is very small, averaging less than 2%. Meanwhile, for the weight of steel reinforcement, the differences vary between 0.68% and 13.21% because manual calculations are less detailed and thorough. For the cost budget, the Revit-based BOQ gave a total of Rp10,062,224,143, while the manual method gave Rp10,215,492,020, resulting in a difference of approximately Rp153 million or 1.50%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the BIM method using Autodesk Revit is more accurate and efficient because the calculations are based on a 3D model that better represents actual field conditions and makes it easier to make revisions when design changes occur.
