Abstract
The purpose of this final project research is to find out the obstacles faced when repairing navigational aids to find out the process of repairing shipping navigational aids so that they function optimally and to improve shipping safety in the Rupat Strait channel, the risks that will occur if the flare buoy not repaired and looking for solutions in overcoming obstacles and obstacles in the process of repairing flare buoys. The data collection method used is the method of observation, interviews and documentation. This research was conducted for 2 months from May to July at the Class 1 Navigation District Office in Dumai. The results of this study indicate that the improvement of shipping navigation aids is very important to improve shipping safety and the need to make improvements so that shipping navigation aids are optimal and functioning again so that it makes it easier for navigators to determine the position and course of the ship. With the improvement of shipping navigation aids, it can improve shipping safety in the Rupat Strait from navigational hazards.
