Abstract
The problem that the author found in this study was the lack of procedures and supervision of the loading and unloading process to reduce the occurrence of depreciation at MT. Advanced Maritime III. The purpose of this study is to find out the causes of depreciation that occurs during the loading and unloading process and to find out the efforts that must be made to reduce the occurrence of depreciation of cpko cargo on the MT ship. Advanced Maritime III. The place of this research was conducted at PT. Samudra Shipping Agency, JL. General Sudirman No. 51, Buluh Kasap, East Dumai, Riau - Indonesia. Which was carried out from February to July 2023. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method, and a data collection method by observation aimed at related parties, and a documentation study used by the author to obtain information related to the problems being studied. The results of this study, the first is that depreciation cannot be reduced to a minimum because the implementation and supervision procedures for unloading and loading activities have not yet been carried out, as well as the lack of accuracy in measuring and calculating the amount of cargo and non-standard measuring instruments used so that depreciation often occurs. Second, efforts to overcome the obstacles encountered in efforts to reduce the amount of cargo depreciation is to be more precise in the measurement and calculation of cargo
