Abstract

This final project is a stage to carry out research that aims to find out the causes of delays in boarding at PT. Samudera Indonesia, to find out how the efforts that must be made by the agent to handle the phonemana at PT. Indonesian Ocean. To find out what are the factors in the delay in docking at PT. Indonesian Ocean. The formulation of the problem is how the impact of delays in docking at PT. Samudera Indonesia, and what efforts have been made to overcome delays in boarding at PT. Samudera Indonesia. Place This research was conducted at PT. Ocean Indonesia which was carried out from February to August 2023. The method used was a qualitative method, in this case the authors collected data using data collection methods including observation, interviews, and documentation studies, research results shows that the agent takes care of all activities related to agency services starting from the ship before it arrives, continuing with anchoring, inspection, berthing process, until the ship leaves the port area. There are several problems causing factors such as delays due to non- technical factors such as ship trouble engines weather conditions, tidal conditions, and depth are very influential. This has a direct impact on changing schedules and ship berths so that the Estimate Time Arrival experiences changes, as well as delays in further activities such as loading and unloading being delayed not according to schedule, Efforts to optimize handling by submitting requests directly to the KSOP as soon as possible and discuss with the pilot guide related to any problems with docking activities so that the problem is immediately resolved by the relevant parties and the ship's activities return to normal
