Abstract
Hambatan Ship resistance is one of the main factors that can influence the design of a ship. One of the studies carried out is a modification of the shape of the stern with the addition of an appendage at the stern. The addition of the stern appendage, namely the interceptor and trim tab, will affect the resistance value and the flow pattern that occurs at the stern so that the resistance that occurs will be smaller. cord and angle determination. The focus of this study is the value of the ship resistance that is generated when the ship operates with the interceptor and trim tab. The simulation was carried out using the Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) method using ANSYS software. The results of this analysis can be seen the difference in the value of the drag on the ship due to the addition of the appendage at the stern and the flow pattern that occurs. Based on the results of the simulations performed, the performance of the trim tab with an angle of 15 gets the smallest drag value with a resistance value of 17016.49 N.
