Abstract

In this thesis, a study has been carried out regarding the strength of the hull of a 5 GT fiberglass fishing boat against slamming loads. Because there have been many ships, especially fiberglass fishing boats that have sunk as a result of being hit by waves at sea, that's why the author examines matters regarding slamming on ships to review the performance of these ships in terms of hull strength and ship motion while at sea. The study begins with an analysis of the ship's motion with the boundary conditions of the ship's draft, the analysis of the ship's movement is carried out using the maxsurf motions software. The results of the movement analysis obtained the RAO results of the ship and were transformed into response spectra. Furthermore, from the second result, the value of the slamming load that occurs on the ship's hull is obtained with a pressure of 10.245 kPa. Based on this pressure, it was carried out to analyze the hull strength and obtained the maximum stress on the bottom of the 5 GT fiberglass boat from ivory 12 to 17 in the bow of the ship, the maximum stress was 0.222 MPa with a deformation of 1.356 mm.
