Abstract

In every production process in a company or industry, many rely on the help of an electric motor at every stage of its production. Included in one of the pulp making processes at the Recauticizing plant in PT. Indah Kiat Pulp And Paper Perawang In order to operate optimally, an electric motor requires a protection system that can protect the motor from various threats and interference. One of the protection systems used for the induction motor is the Thermal Overload Relay (TOR). It acts as an overload controller so that the motor does not suffer damage while operating and so that it does not burn. In order for the TOR to work properly, the Tor must be adjusted according to the capacity of the respective induction motor so that in the event of overload or overload, TOR will automatically disconnect the current flow into the engine so that damage can be avoided.
