Abstract

Pad Eye is a block lifting facility that can be used at one stage of ship production using the Granblock system, namely the erection process, where in this process blocks will be lifted which can weigh up to millions of mN. For this reason, precise calculations are needed so that the block lifting process is safe and failure does not occur. So there is a need for proper analysis which aims to reduce the risk of work accidents and failure at work. The basic purpose of pad eyes is to provide a point where a rope or wire can be tied to ensure stability. The number of pad eyes used is usually 4 to keep the block stable. Calculation analysis using BKI Rules and stress analysis using ANSYS Structure software. The analysis has been carried out and the results have been obtained. The strength of the pad eye for the BKI standard is better strength from a 90° angle and the bracket has a very big influence on the design. For the standard pad eye, the total deformation for the 0° angle is 1.0201 mm, the 45° angle is 4.0838 mm, the 60° angle is 4.785mm and the 90° angle is 5.221 mm, while the modified pad eye for the 0° angle has a total deformation of 1 .0678mm, a 45° angle of 1.0678mm, a 60° angle of 4.239 mm and a 90° angle of 5.4074 mm.
