Abstract
In this research, it is used as an additional mixed material, namely rice husk ash and bottom ash, which is expected to reduce the breakdown of industrial waste and also as a brick mixture for the mechanical properties of bricks so as to improve the quality of red bricks produced manually or modernly. This research aims to determine the effect of adding rice husk ash and bottom ash in determining the strength of bricks in the Rupat area using several aspects such as appearance properties, size, water absorption capacity and compressive strength of bricks with SNI 15-2094-2000. The results of the research are the overall results of the visible properties test which were obtained on 100% normal soil which has the best brick shape of the 4 variations. So the lowest absorption capacity results for bricks are 100% normal soil with an absorption capacity of 32.63% but it is not yet included in the criteria because it does not meet the requirements of SNI 15-2094-2000, namely a maximum recommended absorption capacity of 20%. For the results of the compressive strength test analysis of all bricks, the lowest result value was on normal soil, namely 0.54 Mpa, while the highest was on the 30% variation, namely 0.68 Mpa. Of the four variations, none of them met the categories set by SNI 15-2094. -2000, that is, the compressive strength is still below 5 N/mm²
