Abstract

This final assignment is aims to find out the causes of delays in berthing of ships at PT. Wasaka Indonesia Jaya, to find out what efforts agents must make to deal with this phenomenon at PT. Wasaka Indonesia Jaya. The problem formulation is the impact of delays in berthing of ships and the efforts made to overcome delays in berthing of ships at PT. Wasaka Indonesia Jaya. The research will be carried out from may to August 2024. The method used is a qualitative method by collecting data using observation, interviews and documentation studies. It is hoped that the research results can show the factors causing delays, as well as the impact and efforts in the delay process at PT Wasaka Indonesia Jaya. There are several problems causing factors such as delays due to non- technical factors such as ship trouble engines weather conditions, tidal conditions, and depth are very influential. This has a direct impact on changing schedules and ship berths so that the Estimate Time Arrival experiences changes, as well as delays in further activities such as loading and unloading being delayed not according to schedule, Efforts to optimize handling by submitting requests directly to the KSOP as soon as possible and discuss with the pilot guide related to any problems with docking activities so that the problem is immediately resolved by the relevant parties and the ship's activities return to normal.
