Abstract

The problem in the final project research is related to the maintenance and function of shipping navigation aids in the working area of the Type A Class 1 Navigation district of Dumai. This research aims to determine the implementation of maintenance of navigation aids, determine the impact of damage to navigation aids, and find out maintenance strategies. implemented by the Dumai Class 1 Type A Navigation District. The research methods used by researchers include qualitative data analysis through observation, interviews and documentation studies, which were carried out at the Type A Class 1 Navigation Office in Dumai. The results obtained are, major maintenance is scheduled 2 times a year which is carried out every 6 months periodically from January to June and the following periodically from July to December, routine maintenance is carried out periodically every 3 months, and SBNP maintenance is in accordance procedures and budget allocations available to create safety in shipping lanes.
