Abstract

In this final project, welding of ASTM A37, SS400 and combination steel plates is carried out. Doing the welding test because ASTM A37 plate is widely used in ships in the hull and SS400 plate is used in the stiffener section. The welding was carried out using two electrodes, namely E7016 and E6013 and carried out several tests for the welding results, namely visual test, penetrant test and impack test, the best welding results from visual testing and penetrant test were in ASTM A37 welding and the weakest results were in plate welding. For SS400 steel, the results of the strongest welding impact test are in welding ASTM A37 steel plates with an impact value of 1.5727 J/,mm² and the weakest results are in welding SS400 steel plates with an impact value of 1.1196 J/,mm².
