Abstract

There are several customs in Meranti Islands Regency. One of them is Javanese Wedding Ceremony. Javanese custom can be found in several sub-districts in Meranti, especially in Padang Island. The Javanese custom is one of the indigenous communities that still exist to maintain various forms of culture; one of them is the Javanese wedding ceremony. The main purpose of this final project is to make an Informational book about Javanese wedding ceremony in Padang Island, Meranti Islands Regency. The method of this study was classified into descriptive method. There were several steps in making this informational book, such as collecting data and providing materials, taking pictures, making the content of the book, design front and back cover and making design for the content of the book. This informational book contains the stages of Javanese wedding ceremony. There were 3 stage, pra-mantu (before marriage), mantu (marriage) and pasca-mantu (after marriage). This book is expected to encourage tourism culture in Padang Island. This book can be used to help Tourism and Sport Department Office of Meranti Islands Regency, local community, and especially international community to get information about Javanese Wedding Ceremony in Padang Island, Meranti Islands Regency.
