Abstract

This study proposes the design of a prototype car with an automatic braking system. The method used is to stop the wheel rotation gradually and stop completely using an Arduino Uno microcontroller which is connected to a motor driver and ultrasonic sensor as an obstacle detector. This research aims to create an electrically DC motor braking automation system that is used as a reference for electric car safety systems. By adjusting the size of the voltage received by the DC motor and by using an ultrasonic sensor as a parameter of the voltage received by the DC motor. Then the speed of the electric car will stop before a collision occurs. The Rpm generated from the disc brake can also be seen, when the distance of the object to the sensor has not reached the limit to start braking, the disc brake still rotates perfectly, then when the object starts to be read by the distance sensor, it can be seen from the data taken the closer the object distance , the stronger the braking applied by the servo motor so that the disc brake slows down and even stops.
