Abstract

Fly ash is the remaining dust from burning palm shells. Fly ash has very fine granules, the fineness of these fly ash granules is very potential for air pollution. Therefore, the current handling of fly ash is still limited to stockpiling on vacant land. Therefore, fly ash is used as a substitute to reduce the amount of cement as a binder. The method used in this test was to make a mixture of AC-WC asphalt using SNI 06-2489-1991 Test Method for AC-WC Asphalt Mixture using a Marshall Tool with fly ash as a cement substitute. The results showed the use of fly ash 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%. shows that the overall characteristics of Marshall meet the specifications with stability values = 1067.66kg, 1132.38kg, 1205.74kg, 1297.93kg, flow = 2.81mm, 2.97mm, 3.20mm, 3.32mm, VMA = 15.78%, 16.19%, 16.37%, 16.70%, VIM = 3.93%, 4.40%, 4.60%, 4.97%, VFA = 75.21%, 72.89%, 71.90%, 70.22% and MQ = 386.34kg/mm, 390.04kg/mm, 377.91kg/mm, 411.01kg/mm.
