Abstract
The availability of electrical energy is one of the important factors in the midst of rapid technological development. This research aims to make an automatic transfer switch (ATS) and automatic main failure (AMF) based on PLC and HMI. ATS functions as a system for transferring PLN electricity source to Genset and vice versa automatically. AMF functions to start the generator automatically when the PLN power source is experiencing a blackout. Starting Genset is done for a minimum of 2 seconds with a voltage distribution pause to the load for 5 seconds. When the PLN source returns to normal, the voltage supply from the Genset to the load is cut off and the auxiliary relay works when getting voltage input from PLN. The NO contact of the auxiliary relay gives input for the pause time of the PLN source to the load for 2 seconds, at the same time the Genset performs cooling down for 30 seconds. From the tests that have been carried out, it is known that the 745,7 watt AC 1-phase motor can work at a voltage of 208,03 volts DC with a current of 3,84 amperes DC and at a voltage of 181,13 volts DC produces a current of 2,79 amperes DC. The maximum current-voltage generated by the PLN source is 6.03 A with a voltage of 326,6 V and from the Genset source is 4,38 A with a voltage of 284,37 V. The time required for a sinusoidal wave to reach the effective current-voltage is 0,0025 seconds.
