Abstract
The use of fuel (diesel) which is the result of refined petroleum is very limited and can run out at any time, therefore a new energy source is needed to reduce dependence on fuel. The application of hybrid desk power generation is one of the energy sources on ships to reduce fuel consumption. The application of a hybrid power generation system can reduce generator fuel consumption so as to reduce exhaust emissions from ships. The application of hybrid power plants on ships also saves on ship fuel costs and preserves marine ecosystems. By using hybrid power plants, it can reduce global warming which causes sea temperatures to warm which can damage marine ecosystems. In writing this thesis will be reviewed technically and economically regarding the design of a hybrid power generation system. Technical and economic analysis is carried out by paying for a hybrid power generation system with a conventional system on a Roll-on/Roll-ship from KMP Persada Nusantara. From the research results it is known that the application of a hybrid system power plant on the KMP Persada Nusantara Roll-on/Roll-of ship has an effect on genset fuel savings on the KMP Persada Nusantara Roll-on/Roll-of ship, namely by 54% per year.
