Abstract
This study aims to analyze the design of an ice cube maker using AC 1 PK. The method used in this study includes a study of design planning literature, and trials. At the literature study stage, information was collected regarding the working principles and characteristics of the 1 PK AC which will be used as a cooling source in the ice cube maker. Furthermore, design planning is carried out by considering aspects such as completing the design plan, conducting trials to evaluate the performance of the tool. The test involved several parameters such as the temperature of the air entering and leaving the air conditioner, freezing time without an ice cube load to reach -20 for 7 hours and freezing adding a load of 80 ice cubes to reach a temperature of -20 for 9 hours 40 minutes while previous research was to achieve - 20 for 13 hours. The advantages of this tool compared to previous tools are that it freezes faster, energy consumers during the process of making ice cubes are more efficient and the COP value of this study is 1.77 KW. From this research it is hoped that it can provide further understanding about the use of 1 PK AC as a source of cooling in ice cube makers and is also expected to provide recommendations related to design optimization in order to achieve optimal energy efficiency in the ice cube production process.
