Abstract
The research aims to analyze the impact of the construction of the Bukit Batu - Siak Kecil Ring Road on road performance and to compare the road investment with vehicle operational costs. Through empirical methods and economic analysis, this study reveals the implications of infrastructure development on road performance and economic feasibility. The findings of the research highlight two main points. Firstly, the construction of the Ring Road has successfully improved road performance, as evidenced by the decrease in congestion levels on Jenderal Sudirman Road. This indicates increased traffic efficiency and mobility, directly benefiting road users. Secondly, the economic feasibility analysis of the Ring Road project resulted in a negative Net Present Value (NPV) of approximately Rp. 37,626,312,123. This outcome implies that the project is not economically viable, as the benefits generated are lower than the costs incurred for the road's construction and operation. Overall, this study underscores the importance of comprehensive evaluation of infrastructure projects such as the construction of a ring road. While the project may enhance road performance, economic feasibility remains a primary consideration in making decisions regarding public investments. The research results provide valuable insights for policymakers in assessing the long-term impacts and benefits of infrastructure development projects.
