Abstract
The guidance process at the Bengkalis State Polytechnic, to be precise at the Informatics Engineering Department, is currently still being carried out manually, which is carried out every year by final students. The guidance process is currently still constrained by time problems, especially since lecturers certainly have a lot of work to do apart from guiding with students. For this reason, this study aims to help the main actors in the guidance process, namely students and lecturers. With the guidance feature, students and lecturers can carry out guidance anytime and anywhere. This application was built using a text editor, namely visual studio code, the PHP programming language and the Laravel framework. Apart from the guidance feature, there is also a lab lending feature that students can use to borrow labs. Apart from these features, there is also a title submission feature, a feature that students can use to see who their supervisor is, a seminar form feature, a seminar schedule. In the lecturer section there are acc titles and guidance features, then in the department admin section there are student, lecturer, department and study program data features, and in the laboratory section there is a lab scheduling feature and lab loan confirmation, and finally in the coordinator section there is a determination feature lecturer supervising and seminar scheduling. The final result generated from this application is the creation of a guidance process that starts from submitting titles then conducting guidance and finally being able to conduct seminars. Then there are several deficiencies in the application features that I have made, including the quota for lecturers to become supervising lecturers, then how can the lecturer find out whether it is proposal or thesis guidance and also there is no data printing feature for titles and supervisor lecturers, does the coordinator have to continue input one by one when you want to schedule a student seminar, and also access rights between supervisors and examiners when logged in.
