Abstract
Presence is an important thing in a government agency. With a good attendance system, it is hoped that it can help in controlling the work completion process so that maximum results are obtained and in accordance with the set objectives. At the Teluk Ketapang Village Office, Pulau Meranti Regency, there is no system that handles attendance problems, where attendance seems to still be using the manual method, namely by signing the attendance book in this way which is still less effective because it can cause fraud, for example, employees could entrust their absences to other employees. With this problem, the author created an Android-based attendance application to make attendance easier for village office employees, making it easier for the admin to view employee data, attendance data and recap employee attendance data. Regarding this matter, the author designed an Android-based presence application with the project title "application of the prototype method in designing a presence application using Android-based location based services technology". The stages in software development carried out in creating this presence application use the prototype method. The results of this presence application have met the needs and employees of the Teluk Ketapang Village office can carry out attendance using this presence application.
