Abstract
Calibration is a series of activities that establish a relationship between the value indicated by a measuring instrument or measuring system, or the value represented by a measuring object, and a known value related to the measured quantity under certain conditions. The main purpose of calibration is to achieve measurement traceability. Measurement results can be linked/traced to higher/exact standards (national and international primary standards), through an unbroken series of comparisons. By calibrating, it can be seen how far the difference (deviation) between the correct price and the price shown by the measuring instrument. transmitter is basically a tool used to convert the sensing element of a sensor into a signal that can be read or translated by the controller. There are two kinds of signals to transmit, namely pneumatic and electric. The pneumatic transmission system is a transmission using compressed air to transmit signals. The amount of air pressure used is around 3 - 15 psi. This system is an old system before the advent of the electric era. While the electronic transmission system is a transmission utilizing electrical signals to transmit signals, the range used for this transmission is 4 - 20 mA and 1 - 5 VDC When performing zero calibration, the hart communicator must be connected to the instrument, namely the transmitter, when the transmitter is connected to the hart communicator, it will appear on the hart comminicator screen in the form of digital values, on the screen will be displayed the pressure value on the transmitter before zero calibration is performed, after that we can perform zero calibration according to the application on the hart communicator. After doing zero calibration, a value of 0 will appear, if it is zero then the calibration is successful, when the screen does not display a value of 0, but the previous value appears, it must be recalibrated by checking the transmitter, if it does not work after checking the transmitter and recalibrating, the transmitter must be replaced with a new one.
