Abstract

Waste Spent Bleaching Earth (SBE) is one of the environmental problems that must receive attention to overcome it. This study aims to analyze the ideal percentage of SBE that can be used to replace rock ash, so that this SBE waste can be used in the ACWC Asphalt mixture. First, test the characteristics of the basic material and determine the Optimum Asphalt Content. The compaction of the test object is carried out in 2 × 50 collisions which assumes that the test is intended for moderate traffic.The results of this study indicate that the Optimum Asphalt Content is 5%, after obtaining, the next step is to manufacture and test specimens with a variation of SBE is 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% changes for each variation of SBE levels found the most effective variation used as a substitute for rock ash is the 25% SBE variation because in this variation the overall marshall characteristics meet the specifications with a stability value = 2,567.28 kg, flow= 2.50mm, VMA= 16.64%, VIM= 4.90%, VFA= 70.80% and MQ= 1.042.45 kg/mm. So that in the future SBE waste can be used as a filler with a content of 25% of the total weight of the filler in the AC-WC layer, with this research it can reduce the presence of the SBE waste.
