Abstract
Madani Islamic Boarding School has a very important role in shaping the character and personality of students as an Islamic educational institution. To strengthen character education in Islamic boarding schools, a process of habituation to honest, good and disciplined behavior is needed. However, Islamic boarding school managers experience difficulties in assessing and understanding student behavior. The aim of this research is to predict student behavior from an early age using the Decision Tree algorithm. This prediction can help Islamic boarding school managers identify students who have the potential to experience problems. The research results show that the Decision Tree algorithm can predict student behavior by considering attributes such as attendance, discipline, social and final grade data. Through Decision Tree steps, this algorithm is able to identify important features in student behavior. Apart from that, this research provides benefits for Islamic boarding school managers, teachers and parents of students in understanding student behavior and overcoming problems that arise.
