Abstract

Practical equipment / engine cutting is not optimal regarding learning the working steps of a 4 stroke petrol motorbike in the Bengkalis State Polytechnic combustion motorbike workshop. The working principle of engine cutting is to manually turn the lever using your hand to move the engine components so they can move to see the process. working stroke of a 4 stroke petrol engine. Seeing this problem, the author then got the idea to make modifications to the manual drive using an electric motor and get the motor power used to drive the cutting engine and be able to understand more clearly the working principle of a 4 stroke petrol motor. This tool is driven by an electric motor with a power of 1 HP with a rotational speed of 1400 rpm and is reduced by a gearbox with a ratio of 1: 60 and uses a pulley ratio so that the rotation is 58 rpm. Belt transmission and pulleys are used to connect the electric motor, gearbox and engine pulley. This tool is equipped with a speed controller which is used to slow down the motor rotation so that it can be observed at a slower rotation position. The test results after modifications were made to the drive showed that the tool functioned well and could rotate the engine pulley so that it rotated well and the process of learning the working steps of each component of the 4-stroke combustion engine could be observed clearly.
