Abstract
One important platform for developing the potential of the younger generation is through competitions. Such as the competition organized by Informatics Engineering students at the Bengkalis State Polytechnic, namely KOMTIK, which can provide a platform for participants to apply their information technology knowledge and skills and become competent graduates. However, the registration process and competition management often still face obstacles, especially in disseminating information and collecting participants' work. Therefore, this research aims to design an Android-based application using the Rapid Application Development method which will help the process of organizing competitions. Implementation of the Rapid Application Development method in developing this application allows the creation of a functional prototype with a short development time. The results of this research will help the process of implementing KOMTIK which is organized by the Informatics Engineering Student Association using a more structured android-based system.
