Abstract

Floods are common for Indonesians, especially in densely populated areas. the lack of discipline of people who throw garbage in certain places, especially in rivers or air streams, because garbage accumulates so that the air flow becomes clogged and floods. Even though Indonesia is used to facing floods, there are still many people who do not prepare themselves before a flood occurs, so when a flood occurs that inundates or even submerges housing, what you have to watch out for is the electricity in these houses. Because air is one of the conductors of electricity, the safety of air which is an electric current will endanger humans. The design of this water level detector and electric short circuit breaker can be used to minimize the potential for an electric short circuit. The tool has an ultrasonic sensor that will detect the water level up to a predetermined limit. This tool can perform automatic control on the electrical switch and turn it off automatically. Based on the test results, the system can work well to detect the level of incoming water during a flood and disconnect the electric light as a load. For each command sent by the user has a delay time of ± 5 seconds.
