Abstract
This final project research aims to determine the role of the guide at PT. Pelindo 1 Pakning River Branch against ships docking at Tanjung Buton port. Identifying the constraints in PT. Pelindo 1 Pakning River Branch against ships docking at Tanjung Buton port. The method used in this final project is the method of interview, observation and documentation. The implementation of this Final Project was carried out at PT. Pelindo 1 (Persero) Pakning River Branch. Theresults obtained by the author during the research is the role of the guide at PT.Pelindo 1 Pakning River Branch for ships docking at Tanjung Buton port which has not been implemented optimally because there are delays in piloting requests,lack of scout division motors, and poor communication. The suggestion of thisresearcher is that in providing information on the arrival time of the ship, radio operators should provide accurate information so as not to make the guides waittoo long which results in delays in ship departure.
