Abstract
This study aims to conduct research to find out which type of chisel can produce the best surface roughness on stainless steel 304. To determine the effect of the surface hardness of the workpiece after turning. This research was carried out at the building B machine tool, Bengkalis State Polytechnic JL. Bathin Alam, Sungai Alam Kab. Bengkalis, Riau. This research is how to predict the effect of cutting speed, feeding motion, depth of eating on the optimization of the surface roughness value of the workpiece.
