Abstract

Blindness is the condition of a person who experiences interference or obstacles in his vision. Based on the level of disturbance, blind people are divided into two, namely total blindness and who still have remaining vision (low vision). This portable thermometer for blind people has conducted research testing by measuring the temperature of the room in an open place under direct sun to get high temperature values and reduce (stabilize) the temperature in a closed room (indoors) from a portable thermometer research for blind people sound or temperature measured through the speaker components on the portable thermometer, the data comparison or error difference from the portable thermometer can be seen from the research and retrieval of test data. This data is taken from the portable thermometer sound output and compared to a standard thermometer where a standard thermometer measures by issuing a value with an LCD display and a portable thermometer outputs a measured temperature value through the speaker module, an error from a portable thermometer that has been done by the study author has an error difference of 0,75 %, portable thermoter can measure temperature values from a temperature range of 9o C to 50o C and light a measured temperature with integer values.
