Abstract
This study aims to determine the Internal Control System for Merchandise Inventory at Indomaret Sudirman 1 Selat Baru Branch Bantan 2 Bengkalis, the obstacles faced in the implementation of internal control over the inventory of merchandise at Indomaret Sudirman 1 Selat Baru Branch Bantan 2 Bengkalis, Procedures for Control of Inventory Merchandise. The type of data used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The research data was obtained from Indomaret Sudirman 1, Bantan Baru Strait Branch, 2 Bengkalis. Data collection techniques in this study are interviews, documentation and observation. The results obtained are that the Internal Control System has been running well because it looks like an organizational structure, division of tasks, clear delegation of authority and responsibility between employees, obstacles faced in the form of incompatibility of goods ordered from suppliers, and the risk of damage to goods during delivery, and the risk of the warehouse being unable to meet the store's demand, the Control Procedure for Merchandise Inventory at Indomaret Sudirman 1 Selat Baru Bantan 2 Bengkalis Branch has been going well, all activities related to the procedures for ordering goods, receiving, storing and shipping are carried out in accordance with the company's operational standards and must go through Authorization of store officials is also visible in the existence of an internal control system in carrying out its operational activities, such as the separation of duties, and clear authorization from authorized officials and also the existence of a budget for purchasing goods from suppliers.
