Abstract

Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world where indonesia has 17,504 largest islands in all ofindonesia, especially in sumatra reaching 3,665 islands, with many islands there are also many people who work as fishermen, but sometimes fishermen find it difficult to comunication tools. And also it becomes difficult to monitor the position of fishing boats on the high seas. Almost most large ships and small boats are equipped with GPS devices to determine the location of the coordinatesof the position of the boat. In this study, the design of a coastal fishing boat detection device uses GPS whichaims to determine the position of the fishermen’s boats. This tool is detached of accidentally released from the fuel oil tank known to the admin. The results of the experiment show that this sytem is able to detect via goggle maps with an accuracy of 40% from ten experiments carried out.
