Abstract
Land use changes along Jalan Pramuka and Jalan Bathin Alam, Bengkalis Regency, influence trip generation and attraction, as well as road performance. This study aims to analyze the impact of land use changes on traffic volume and road level of service. The method used is quantitative descriptive analysis with traffic counting surveys and land use inventory. Trip generation and attraction surveys were conducted on three educational units and three commercial units (sample), with their data subsequently forming the basis for Trip Rate calculations. Trip generation/attraction estimation for other commercial units was performed using the average Trip Rate from the observed samples, with the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines as the reference for analyzing capacity, degree of saturation, and level of service (LOS). The analysis results show that commercial areas have a Trip Rate (TR) for Generation of 7.14 and for Attraction of 7.01, higher than educational areas (TR Generation 0.74; TR Attraction 2.10). The total existing trip generation/attraction from both areas is 1272 pcu/hour, contributing significantly to the total traffic volume (Jalan Pramuka Weekday 81%; Jalan Bathin Alam Weekday 60%). Under existing conditions, Jalan Pramuka reached LOS C (DS 0.49), while Jalan Bathin Alam was at LOS B (DS 0.38). Projections for the next 10 years indicate that total trip generation/attraction will increase to 3492.86 pcu/hour, potentially decreasing Jalan Pramuka's LOS to D (DS 0.68). This research is expected to serve as a reference in transportation and spatial planning.
