Abstract
This study evaluates the performance of a signalized intersection using the Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (PKJI) 2023 and microscopic simulation with PTV VISSIM. The analysis focuses on traffic volume, road capacity, degree of saturation (DS), level of service (LOS), and signal cycle time. Under existing conditions, the intersection operates efficiently, with LOS in the range of B to C and DS values remaining below the critical threshold (DS < 0.85). The five-year traffic projection indicates an increase in traffic volume, yet the DS values remain acceptable. However,the ten-year projection shows that DS on several approaches exceeds 0.85, indicating a risk of congestion. To maintain optimal performance, geometric improvements such as lane widening and median reduction are recommended. The findings highlight that integrating manual analysis with simulation provides a comprehensive understanding of traffic conditions and supports more effective and sustainable transportation planning.
