Abstract
Fire is a serious risk in the campus environment due to human, technical, and infrastructure factors. This study aims to measure the level of emergency response of the Bengkalis State Polytechnic academic community to fire hazards, analyze the causal factors, and evaluate the planning of fire prevention measures and fire safety equipment. The method used is a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents, then analyzed using SPSS. The results showed that the level of
emergency response is high with an average score of 38.52 out of a maximum of 50. Partially, the variables of fire causes, prevention measures, and fire hazards do not have a significant effect, but simultaneously all three influence the level of emergency response. In addition, the calculation results show that the number of light fire
extinguishers (APAR) required does not fully meet the standards in several buildings, so adjustments are needed for the number and distribution of APAR as part of the
mitigation strategy.
