Abstract
The management of digital documents and archives has become an important necessity for educational institutions. To address this need, a centralized, secure, and easily accessible digital storage system is a relevant solution. One alternative that can be used is Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices, which can enhance work efficiency and mobility. However, the use of commercial NAS devices often incurs high costs. Based on this issue, this research aims to build a NAS system that is secure, economical, and supports remote access. The method used is the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC). The NAS system is designed using the Orange Pi Zero3 single-board computer with the Armbian operating system and Nextcloud software as the data management platform. The research results show that the built system can provide an average transfer speed of 27.5 MB/s (220 Mbps), can be accessed from various devices via local or internet networks, and has security protection with two-step authentication and the implementation of Fail2Ban to prevent brute force attacks. Therefore, this system proves to be an effective, efficient, and economical solution in supporting data storage needs at the Public Relations Division of Bengkalis State Polytechnic.
