Abstract
This study was conducted to analyze the effect of high vibration on the performance of the Gland Fan-B TG 25 pump at PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk Perawang, and to provide appropriate repair recommendations to restore the pump's operational condition to optimal levels. Based on the results of monitoring using SKF Vibration and VibXpert tools, a significant increase in vibration values was found, especially in the horizontal and vertical directions. Further inspection by the MEU team identified an imbalance in the impeller and loose bolts on the casing or support. As a follow-up, a dynamic balancing process was carried out which successfully reduced the vibration amplitude from 3,625 mm/s to 0,626 mm/s after the installation of corrective loads. These results indicate that imbalance is the main cause of high vibration. Regular vibration monitoring has proven effective in early detection of potential damage and supporting preventive maintenance programs in industrial environments.
