Abstract
Chili plant cultivation requires good management to achieve optimal results, especially with the application of modern technology. The farmer group in Ulu Pulau Village, Dusun Damai Abadi, Bengkalis Regency, Riau, manages a land area of 70 square meters with a harvest yield reaching more than 600 kg per month under ideal conditions. Manual measurement of temperature and soil moisture is often inaccurate, making it difficult for farmers to make quick and precise decisions. The main problem faced is extreme weather factors, such as floods that damage crops and long droughts that cause dryness. Therefore, the application of a temperature and humidity monitoring system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) becomes a solution to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of chili cultivation. This system can automate irrigation based on sensor data, thereby reducing the risk of crop failure due to environmental factors. From the test results that have been carried out, the IoT-based monitoring and automatic irrigation system runs well, the soil moisture sensor, temperature sensor (DHT11), relay, and mini water pump can work properly and are integrated into the system. The soil moisture sensor successfully detects soil moisture levels accurately based on the displayed value. The temperature sensor is able to record temperatures that are suitable for chili plants. The relay and water pump can automatically activate when the soil moisture is at the predetermined threshold. Data from the sensors is displayed in real-time through the web monitoring application, which has features such as a dashboard, irrigation history, and data printing.
